Interview with an Astronaut

The other day I had the privilege of interviewing former Navy Fighter Pilot and Astronaut, Dr. Jerry Linenger, who is originally from the East Detroit/East Pointe area.  It was a very special honor for me to speak with him.  The full interview will be aired on Thursday, September 1st (and will be available on our website the following morning).  During the interview, Dr. Linenger and I spoke about his time spent up in space aboard the Russian Space Station MIR, which was a total of five months, 2,000 orbits around the earth and over 50 million miles.  While up there Dr. Linenger took thousands of photos, had to fight a fire, and dealt with a space station that was seemingly falling apart.  While on board, Dr. Linenger wrote letters to his wife and son, which have since been made into a book (“Letters from MIR: An Astronaut’s Letters to His Son”).  If you visit the guests page on our website you will see some photos of Dr. Linenger’s time in space and can follow the links to purchase his books.  He is a true American Hero and it was an honor to have him be a guest on our show.  Remember to tune in on Thursday to hear the interview or go to www.god321.net and listen to the podcast.
